Erik Gronfor, bass

Erik Gronfor is the Assistant Principal Bassist of the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra, and has been a Grand Teton Festival participant since 1998. Before moving to Houston he was Principal Bassist of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and taught at the College of Charleston. He holds degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music and Rice Shepherd School of Music. Erik also plays with the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, the Peninsula Music Festival in Fish Creek WI and teaches at the American Festival for the Arts. When not playing or teaching, Erik can be found in the Houston Symphony Library, where he works as one of the music librarians.
